Founded as an independent state university on May 31, 2008, Gümüşhane University integrates its education and research activities with a regional development-oriented approach, supported by modern infrastructure, developing laboratories, and a highly qualified academic staff. The university offers undergraduate and graduate education across a wide range of disciplines, from engineering and natural sciences to health sciences, economics and administrative sciences, and humanities. Through its Technology Transfer Office (Gümüşhane-TTO), the university coordinates research commercialization, intellectual property management, entrepreneurship, and project development services under a single structure.

Gümüşhane-TTO systematically supports researchers and students in accessing both national funding programs (such as TÜBİTAK–ARDEB) and European Union programs (such as Horizon Europe and Erasmus+) through funding–call matching, project writing and budgeting consultancy, and specialized trainings. Within this scope, it regularly organizes information meetings, online promotional events, and program-oriented brochures to enhance awareness and participation.
